” Time is a physician which heals every grief.” ( Diphilus)

 In Grief

The calendar says that it is time to say good-bye to 2011. So as I rip off the last page for this year, I am taking a moment to assess my progress for the past 365 days and I am wondering, ” How are you doing? “.

For those of you who are just starting your journey, I know that it may be dark, daunting, and full of fear. But try and take small steps each day and hopefully you will feel your confidence return and your strides will lengthen.

To those of you who are more seasoned travelers, the roadway has likely started to smooth out a little bit and the the blind curves are now more predictable bends.
Continue on with a lighter heart and try to venture beyond your usual route.

And for those of us who have logged more miles without our loved ones than with them, we are traveling on a familiar highway that is shadowed by fond memories and radiates a familiar warmth at every mile marker. Like me, you probably have accepted the change and are charting a new fulfilling course with the wisdom of your experience. Don’t stop! There are more adventures ahead.

To everyone, no matter where you are, be patient. Take time to stop and enjoy the view. Be kind to yourself for only you are in charge of your own happiness. And most of all, let your “whispers” guide you into a new year that I hope will be full of healing, hope, and a sense of joy.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year and feel free to write and tell me how you are doing! I am always here to
help smooth your pathway.
